My open source organization and foundations#
Global organizations#
CNCF#
The Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) is the open source, vendor-neutral hub of cloud native computing, hosting projects like Kubernetes and Prometheus to make cloud native universal and sustainable. Oleg participates there, especially in the areas of open observability and Cloud Native CI/CD.
My public roles:

- program committee member at Kubecon | CloudNativeCon since 2023, as well of other Linux Foundation events like cdCon and the Open Source SUmmit.

Google Summer of Code#
Google Summer of Code (GSoC) is a global, online program that brings new contributors into open source software development. GSoC Contributors work with open source organisations for 12+ weeks, on their coding projects.
I have participated in the program since 2015 as a mentor and org admin in the Jenkins project, Free and Open Source Silicon Foundation, Continuous Delivery Foundation, and the Kotlin Foundation. Currently, I provide support and advice to mentoring teams (“mentoring mentors”) and promotes the program among students.
Continuous Delivery Foundation#
The Continuous Delivery Foundation (CDF) is an open-source community improving the world's ability to deliver software with security and speed. It includes 10+ projects, including Jenkins or Tekton, and facilitates growth and interoperability of the open source ecosystem.
I have been a community ambassador at the CDF since the inception of the program. In 2021 I was also elected to join the Technical Oversight Committee. There I facilitate technical programs among member projects (including Jenkins or Tekton), and joint projects with the CDF end users and members. Full Statement.
Local Swiss organizations#
Cloud Native Suisse Romande#
Cloud Native Suisse Romande is a regional community for cloud native practitioners and enthusiasts in French-speaking Switzerland. It brings together engineers, developers, and technology leaders to share knowledge, discuss cloud native technologies, and strengthen the local open source ecosystem.
In this organization, I co-organize KCD Suisse Romande, support local events, and run the administrative part of the association.
CH Open#
CH Open is an association for the promotion of open source software and open standards in Switzerland. CH Open regularly organises events and conferences in Switzerland, including Workshoptage, DINAcon, and Open Education Day.
I am a member with voting rights. I spoke at the several association's events, including Swiss Open Education Day. I plan to contribute to the Suisse Romande working group when it is finally established.
Silicon Chalet#
Silicon Chalet is the French-speaking Meetup for all tech enthusiasts. Formerly known as the Kubernetes Geneva Meetup, it already brought together a community eager to discuss containers and the CNCF ecosystem. Now, the Chalet will host other tech topics popular with its members.
I am Silicon Chalet Ambassador and the Neuchâtel chapter lead. I participate in event organisation, and public speaking.
API Neuchâtel#
The Association of IT Professionals (API) supports the IT sector in the canton of Neuchâtel and beyond. It organizes meetups and workshops in the region, and also promotes the local tech news.

Kotlin Foundation#
The Kotlin Foundation is a non-profit organization that supports the development, adoption, and growth of the Kotlin programming language and its ecosystem.
I was a member of the Kotlin Ecosystem Committee representing Gradle Technologies and a liaison to the Marketing Committee. I was also an organization administrator and mentor in Google Summer of Code in 2024.
FOSSi#
The Free and Open Source Silicon Foundation (FOSSi) exists to promote and protect the open source silicon chip movement. It actively encourages the community’s growth and is helping to maintain the open spirit of the movement, through events, educational programmes and working groups.
I am an open hardware enthusiast, with some experience in RISC-V and OpenRISC ecosystems. I believe it will eat the world too 🚀 I used to volunteer in the Free and Open Source Silicon (FOSSi) Foundation and contribute to the LibreCores project. I also have a PhD degree in hardware design and electronics design automation.
Jenkins RU#
I am trying to consolidate the Russian-speaking community by setting up chats, helping to users/developers and organizing Jenkins Area Meetups in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Minsk and other cities. I helped to organize 30_ meetups in 2015-2020, but now the effort is stopped due to the ongoing war in Ukraine. There are plans to restart it as online community.
